How to reach Saduragiri from Chennai

Sathuragiri Hills or Chathuragiri otherwise known as ' SUNDARA MAHALINGAM ' is situated 10 km from Watrap (Wathirairuppu) near Srivilliputhur. The name Sathuragiri came from Chathur (4) Veda (Vedas) Giri (Hill), where all the four Vedas met and formed the hill. The four hills are believed to be Shiva, Vishnu, Brahma and Siddhagiri. Sathuragiri is the Abode of God. It is here Lord Shiva in the form of a saint blew the conch to mark the territory

Shiva blessed a couple Pacchaimal and Sadai Mangai who fed Shiva (in disguise) with Cow milk daily

This is also called as "Siddargal boomi". 18 Siddhas still live here and full of medicinal herbs. Rasawadam - turning object to Gold was practiced here.

Korakkar caves are on the way to Sundara Mahalingam and Rettai lingams both Suyambu lingams

A few distance before the lingams is the Vagara medicine well created by Kalangi Rishi. A bath in this water will cure all diseases and sins

There is another Santhana Mahalingam - a Thaiviga Lingam - few meters away and a trek of 4 km in forest will lead to Periya Mahalingam

Pothigai express from Chennai leads to Srivilliputhur and one can hire an auto to go to Thaniparai (base camp). from there Lord Shiva will take you all the way up to experience the bliss. It's his abode and we are his kids. He'll take care !!!
